Fernando Sánchez. 1981. Cantabria. Spain.

In 2008, after finishing my studies in photography, video and lighting, I started working as a graphic editor and photographer at the national Spanish newspaper Público, until its closure in 2012. From then until 2017 I became the head of the photography department at La Marea, a digital newspaper, and monthly magazine, where I performed the functions of graphic edition, photography and coordination of the photographers' team in Spain.

Was also during 2017 when my work on the Spanish economic crisis was selected for a United States traveling exhibit at the Universities of Johns Hopkins (Baltimore), Upenn (Philadelphia), Cunny (New York) and Princeton (New Jersey). In addition to that, my work on street photography was selected, and exhibited, at the DOCfield´15 festival in Barcelona.

It was during that period, when I felt the need to dedicate myself exclusively to the creation of graphic content for the media; therefore, I started working as a freelance photographer based in Madrid. Since then, I have collaborated in different print media channels like: Prisa Revistas (El País), NurPhotoAgency, O Globo, Polaris Images, Eldiario.es, Público.es; as well as I have carried out corporate photography for Unidas Podemos and Mad Cool Festival.

Currently, I am working as a photographer for the Europa Press Agency, where my content has been published in the main Spanish print media channels such as El País, El Mundo, ABC, La Razón, El Periodico and La Vanguardia, among others.
At the same time, I am also working on a long-term report on gentrification and touristification in Lavapiés, a neighborhood of Madrid, and the subsequent loss of identity that this supposes mainly due to the loss of their neighbors.
